The forest

Into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul… I decided to head out to the forest and spend the day meditating and reconnecting with the earth.

Trees have been held sacred in many cultures, both ancient and modern and have been included in spirituality, healing, and sacred ceremonies for humanity.  Below is the Chochur Muran Restaurant and you can see the forest in the back. It had just started snowing, so the ground was covered in snow and I was happier than I had ever been to walk around in the snow.  Coming from South Africa, I have never experienced snow before.  This was a first for me and I was so excited.  Little did I know that within an hour or so, my feet were going to be freezing!  Well, it started with my feet and then my fingers, face, legs etc.

I love the isolation and absolute silence of the forest.  You can feel the energy of the trees and hear the the earth speaking to you.

This is the view from the top of the hill, looking down onto Yakutsk in the far distance.
